When you can't reach mains power off-grid, the ATEM POWER 12V 40A DC to DC Battery Charger keeps a second battery topped up from your alternator or up to 40A of solar. A built-in MPPT regulator squeezes more out of your solar input, while a multi-stage charging profile (standby, pre-charge, constant current, constant voltage, full charge, re-charge) protects battery life across Lead Acid, AGM, Gel, Calcium and LiFePO4 chemistries. Reverse polarity, overload, over-temperature and short circuit protection are built in throughout.

Compatibility
Works with Lead Acid, AGM, Gel, Calcium and LiFePO4 battery chemistries between 120–1,200Ah. Suitable for dual battery setups in 4WDs, caravans, RVs, campers, trailers and campervans, and compatible with smart/variable-voltage alternators via the ACC line.
How to use
- Wire the charger between your starter battery (or solar array) and auxiliary battery, following the wiring diagram in this listing rather than the printed manual, which may cover an older model.
- Select the battery profile that matches your auxiliary battery — Lead Acid, AGM, Gel, Calcium or LiFePO4.
- On smart-alternator vehicles, connect the ACC wire to the ignition to enable lower input voltage operation.
- Use 10AWG cable for runs under 1m, 6AWG for 1–5m, and 4AWG for runs over 5m.
